I Know That My Redeemer Lives
I recorded this piece of music when I was 18 years of age. Also, on the piano, my cousin Rebecca Davis Jones :)

Falling Is Love
(By Amanda Bland and Wanda McCroskey, copyright June 2009)
Enjoying the fruit of our fathers labors
We easily dream of love
White like a dove that favors its’ wings
We think we’ve arrived
Exchange our rings
FALL
Gravity of our choices
MEET
Pain of our progress
Falling in love is falling for sure
This right of passage to freedom
Is changing our dreams
Into wisdom
The garden turns into desolation
Our faults indeed ensue
We cling to the safety of memories past
A portion of joy overdue
Is now dissolving fast
Once effortless love
Now a lover’s lament
By the sweat of our brow
We eat bread
FALL
Gravity of our choices
MEET
Pain of our progress
Falling in love is falling for sure
This right of passage to freedom
Is changing our dreams
Into wisdom

broken cry heard far away
moments not long passed
silence like the break of day
communication crashed
Some say time heals
some say time is money
but I say time is all we have to love somebody
oh, to love somebody
Hole in the wall, mascara stains
on a bedroom pillowcase
souvenirs remember pain
and tears mark up your face
Some say time heals
some say time is money
but I say time is all we have to love somebody
oh, to love somebody
Some say time heals, (yeah)
some say time is money
but I say time is all we have to love somebody
oh,
Some say time heals
some say time is money
but I say time is all we have to love somebody
oh, to love somebody
to love somebody

Celebrate My Life
Go ahead and invite me to feel
as low and lost as you do
(yeah)
you said you've seen the road ahead
and that I'd be a fool
but I'd be a bigger fool to follow you
I will celebrate my life
educate my mind
run a race against time
you might say that
I don't need your welcome mats
I can draw my own maps
i don't care what he said, she said, he said, she said
Your bittersweet circles of gossip
don't diagnose my problems
it ain't no mystery that I got 'em
(no)
this pride will eat you up inside
who died and made you queen
you'll never be my queen
I will celebrate my life
educate my mind
run a race against time
you might say that
I don't need your welcome mats
I can draw my own maps
i don't care what he said, she said, he said, she said
you mope around
tell the crowd about your loss
and all the tears it cost you
the years will pass by
you'll still be hiding from the truth
you threw away your youth
(yeah)
I will celebrate my life
educate my mind
run a race against time
you might say that
I don't need your welcome mats
I can draw my own maps
I don't care what he said, she said, he said, she said
My Perennials
A picture on a perfect day
My daughters’ messy hair
A son who looks up at the sky
These are my perennials
Dancing around in playful circles
Crowding my life with love
In my heart when I’m on my knees
These are my perennials
When the world is purchasing their perishables
And gloating in their variables
I breathe in,
And I think of my perennials
Stumbling on the flat earth
And falling on my face
I feel forgiveness as it swells
These are my perennials
