Two Love Songs
(by Amanda Bland, copyright July 2011)
I fell in love with a lonely man
who traveled in a one-man band
that use to play a love song,
a blonde and blue-eyed love song
He followed someone else's dream
so willingly cause he believed
in writing his own love song
a true and loyal love song
BRIDGE:
His fidelity to me
felt too weak in the knees
So I left his 'good intentions' behind in New Orleans...Louisiana
His remaining pride was left for dead
On the side of the road without any bread
that he earned by playing love songs...
A foolish heart in time won't heal
from memories that make it feel
the pain of long-lost love songs
He WAS my one true love song
